As some of you may have read, I saw Metallica in concert on Monday night and I thought I would share some of the awesomeness with you guys!!
We left for Nashville at 11am our time we had some lunch and of course listened to Metallica on the way there. We got there around 2pm their time. I picked up our tickets from Will Call while hubby and our friends found parking. After that we all parted ways because we had to get the line for early entry because we are fan club members. We waited in line outside until 5pm and then we were finally let inside! Everyone in the line wanted to be as close to the stage as possible so when we were let in the doors we ran! We had no problems getting a spot right on the rail. As close as you can get! Metallica was about to be 5 feet away from me! It seemed like the longest wait was after we got inside but at 7pm the first bad took the stage. The first band was Gojira(French metal) and the second was Lamb of God. I had already seen both bands about two years ago in Nashville and hubby and has seen LOG a million times(this was actually the third I think).
Finally the moment we had all been waiting for arrived! The Ecstasy of Gold starts playing and if you know anything about Metallica you know that means the place is about to explode!
Cameras weren’t allowed in the arena so these were all taken with my hubs phone but they turned out pretty good. Look how close we were!Yeah, that James Hetfield five feet away from me!
I saw Metallica in concert the first time in ’04. It was amazing! The best concert I had ever been to but I had seats that time. Though they were very good seats they weren’t this close! Nothing compares to being right on the stage! Even if I was pushed and molested a bit.
Oh I haven’t even told you the best part yet! For the last song they did Seek and Destroy. James walked around the outside of the stage and held the mic for the fans sing the seek and destroy part. He held the mic up for us!!! We got to sing into his mic! OMG! Then when he was walking away I touched his arm! I couldn’t just let the moment pass! I touched James Hetfield! Okay enough gushing. If you ever get the chance to see them in concert, do it!
One more thing! You know Lemmy from Motorhead? He was there he came out and did two songs with Metallica. How cool is that? Here’s a picture from Metallica’s Myspace:
