I’m going to try and make this as coherent as possible. I’ve had four hours of sleep.
I saw the midnight release of New Moon last night and WOW! Let me start from the beginning. We arrived at the theater at 9:30 and found out that they weren’t letting people in until 11:20! They never do that at our theater. We had to stay outside in the freezing cold! If only I had Jacob then. Luckily we were some of the first people in line. They started letting us in finally but they looped the line around so we could go in a side door. Here was the problem that almost made me kill someone. I bought our tickets online. You have to take printed tickets to the front desk to be scanned. We had to lose our place in line! I was irate! Thankfully we got it all worked out and still got good seats. Now on to the good stuff! I felt like a little kid again! Midnight premieres always do that to me. I get so giddy! The opening New Moon graphic had me almost bouncing in my seat!
I can understand why some people were disappointed or disliked the Twilight movie. I myself enjoyed it but I can see the flaws in it. If there are people out there that didn’t or don’t like New Moon, I will never understand it. It was simply amazing. It was everything I wanted it to be x 1000. I’m really trying to not make this review a bunch of OMG’s and WOW’S but Chris Weitz and the cast are making that awfully hard on me.
All of the actors were superb. Kristin Stewart improved in this movie immensely. I’m not sure if she was really doing anything that different but she actually felt like Bella to me in this movie. Robert Pattinson was…Robert Pattinson. He was brooding and dark but sweet at the same time. Taylor Launter was…..phenomenal!
Phenomenal! That’s the only word to explain him. He really showed all those people that had doubts about him. His transformation from Best Friend Jacob to Werewolf Jacob was incredible. I read a quote from him in EW that said something like “Going to the gym was only part of it. I really studied the books.” It most definitely paid off. His acting is spot on. He is the most talented of the three in my opinion.
Last year when they announced that they were definitely making New Moon and Eclipse into movies my first concern was the wolves. Werewolves are always so laughable in movies. My concerns were unfounded. They were awesome! That’s the only word for them. The first time I saw them, even though I had saw them in countless previews, almost took my breath away. I was also worried that they wouldn’t look big enough. They did! The fight scenes were gorgeous. The wolf sounds alone were incredible.
New Moon stayed amazingly true to the book. I’m pretty sleepy but I can only think of one actual whole scene that they changed and it made prefect sense. Sure they added some more action in at the end but I’m not complaining! I thoroughly enjoyed that action. I was wondering how they make us understand how devastated Bella was. I won’t tell you how they did it but it was genius! All in all I can honestly say that I thought this movie was perfect. I don’t think they could have done a better job. If you were skeptical because you didn’t like the first movie, go see this one! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
I so very very happy that I’m going to see it again today with my sister. I don’t think I could have made it through the day without seeing it again. I might have to drag my husband again tomorrow. Please allow me just a moment of fangirliness. OMG! OME! OMJ! New Moon was amazing!!!! I can’t wait for Eclipse!!!! OMG! Sorry I had to get that out of my system.
GO see New Moon! Please do it for me!

YAY!!!! I'm so glad you loved it!! I feel like we felt mostly the same way about it.
I'm so jealous that you're seeing it again today. I have to wait until Monday to see it again.
soooo good!!!!
Wow… Sounds like you really enjoyed it. I was a little put off by the negative reviews, but maybe I'll watch it after all
I did like the first movie- a as a movie separate from the books. I thought they took a little too much creative license with that one and there were plenty of times that I just sat there wondering what they were thinking but I do have bigger hopes for this one. One, it is an easier book to take freedom with and still stay true to the books and two, The new director had me hoping.
I am glad you did enjoy it- I am not seeing it immediately but that is mostly because I can't stand all the squeeing fangirls and prefer to wait until the initial OMGness has died down although your review makes me wanna see it more =P
What a stellar review! It makes me long to see New Moon! I can't wait!!!
I have no idea when I am going, but I can't wait! Glad you thought it was that good.

WOW your review was soo much more cohearant than mine LOL – no fair!
I totally agree with everything you said – and though I was disappointed with Twilight, I liked it away from the book, if that makes sence, if I dont try to compare them, it was good – but trying to compare then leaves me sad its not all it could have been…
That said, New Moon was and soo much more – your OMG's and AWESOME were/are so spot on!
I too am soo glad I get to see it again today, I am sure there were parts I missed, as you do with everything when your THAT excited….and I cant wait to see what Aubrey thinks!
Your review and mine look a lot alike, but with different wording. Im glad u liked it, I liked it too ^^
I want to see it today!!!!! But we have plans w/ friends to see it tomorrow! Hubby says we should just wait til tomorrow but I'm thinking I'll probably want to see it twice any way!
We just need a sitter for today……
I agree with EVERYTHING you said. When the credits started rolling, I kind of just sat there for a moment .. taking it all in .. trying to process just how much this movie blew my mind. That's exactly what the first one should've been like. But I'm glad they're fixing the series now. It was really incredible and I definitely hope they bring Weitz back for Breaking Dawn. If not, I say a rally is in order.
Wasn't it awesome??? I was expecting it to be a little disappointing, because let's face it.. I had huge expectations. And I ended up being breathless! Probably one of the best movies about a book that I have ever seen! Everything was there!! AMAZING!
Sorry about your tickets though.. ;D
I heard Taylor's abs deserve an award. Seeing this on Sunday.
I also heard the ending was changed in a major way from the book.
I agree with you all! I just saw it for the second time and it will definitely leave you breathless!
Katiebabs, Taylor's abs definitely deserve an award. That should be a new category in the Oscar's.
I don't think they changed the ending in a major way. A little bit but it worked.
Great review! I am so glad you liked it. I will be going to see it this weekend. My 7 year old daughter wants to see it, but I'm not sure about taking her. I think me and my husband will go and if I think it's okay for her, I will take her. What do you think. She saw Twilight and loved it.
cherylbaryl, if she saw Twilight I think this one would be alright. There's some pretty intense wolf fights but that's about it and they don't last too long.
I was surprised at how true to the book New Moon turned out to be, the movie quality was much better than Twilight without a doubt
I loved the movie too! Kristen was awesome. Variety says,"Stewart is the heart and soul of the film, and not only because her Bella is surrounded by characters who literally have neither one nor the other. She gives both weight and depth to dialogue ("You're just warm. You're like your own sun") that would sound like typical chick-lit blather in the mouth of a less engaging actress, and she makes Bella's psychological wounds seem like the real deal." I also loved Taylor's performance. Wow.
As a reader of the books, I was sorely disappointed with the movie. The first movie was nothing more than glorified fan-service, and I was truly hoping they would rectify that with New Moon.
