Facts on Friday is my new attempt to not post reviews 5 days a week. They get a little boring right? So what is Facts on Friday you might ask…well there is no clear definition. It’s really just whatever I feel like posting. It could be author/book news. Controversial goings on in the book world. Discussions. Random things about me. Or just random things in general! Sounds fun right? I hope so!
On this week’s Facts I want to know where you get your books from!
I would guess that a little less than half of my books come from Amazon. Since I got a Kindle for my birthday I will eventually start getting most of my books there. I honestly go for the cheapest. If Amazon has a hardback book for $10 then I’m going to buy it there. That’s why I love my Kindle also! No books over $9.99 for Kindle. With all the recent controversy surrounding Amazon are you still buying there?
My closest Bookstore is a Books A Million and a year ago 98% of my books came from there but since I have started reading mostly YA I have found Amazon much much cheaper. I still go to the bookstore about once a week just to look around but I really only buy new releases that I want RIGHT NOW and aren’t available on Kindle. If I had a Barnes & Noble close by it might be a different story lol. I can’t go in that store without buying something. The way they have displays set up just makes me want the books! BAM doesn’t even really have displays….
The library is something I really need to start using more! I keep telling myself I will go but I know if I do I will leave with a ton of books and I have so many to read already! I really should go. It would save a lot of $$. Do you use the library?
*Update* After I wrote that ^^ I went to the library! I renewed my card and got two books! The YA section is a little lacking but I plan on using the library much more in the future!
I used to buy a ton of books at used bookstores but since I started reading mostly YA I don’t even go anymore. I have found that the YA section in most used stores is really lacking. If I want something really cheap and don’t mind if it’s used I usually get it through Amazon Marketplace.
I really wish I had a indie store in the area but nope!
Once again I used to use Paperbackswap.com all the time! But the waiting lists for YA’s never move! So I don’t really use it anymore. I was really excited about the Goodreads swap but I haven’t had any luck! Every book that I request expires! I getting a little annoyed at it lol. Do you use it?
I also occasionally buy books at Wal-Mart and Target……Target actually has a surprisingly good selection!
So where do you get your books??!
I’m also going to post random pictures of my cats on Facts on Friday. So here is you random cat picture of the week, Picadilly:
