Something strange is stalking the small town of Junction…

When junior Jess Gillmansen gets called out of class by Guidance, she can only presume it’s for one of two reasons. Either they’ve finally figured out who wrote the scathing anti-jock editorial in the school newspaper or they’re hosting yet another intervention for her about her mom. Although far from expecting it, she’s relieved to discover Guidance just wants her to show a new student around—but he comes with issues of his own including a police escort.

The newest member of Junction High, Pietr Rusakova has secrets to hide–secrets that will bring big trouble to the small town of Junction—secrets including dramatic changes he’s undergoing that will surely end his life early.

My Thoughts:

I opened this book without any expectations. Luckily within pages I loved the main character, Jessie.  I say luckily because this is a werewolf book, with no werewolves. There is a lot going on in this book. but it all comes together nicely. The suspense and mystery kept me turning pages. I wish there would have been more wolfy encounters but that’s just my craving for paranormal talking.

Jessie was an excellent main character. She was smart and witty. And I found her love for vampire novels to be a fun ironic touch! I also loved Pietr. He was just the right amount of swoon worthy bad boy and kind hearted love interest. I was sad that their relationship couldn’t have been more developed in the book but watching the drama unfold was very interesting!

This is a good debut and I think the series will only get better as it goes on. It definitely left me with enough questions that I will  be reading the sequel. Plus, I want to see some more werewolves…

Hmmm… great review but now I'm thinking I may have borrow this book and not buy it (probably wouldn't have been able to buy it anyway). Sounds like an interesting read and I've been hearing so many raves about it was nice to see one that wasn't a negative review, but not exactly a rave either.

ooh "not a lot happening" , that's kind of a downer. I don't think I'll read this one, nice review on it though.
