A Year in the Life of….

2010 has been a very eventful year for me and I wanted to take the time out to recap some of the events that happened:

In March I read a book that changed my life. No, really it did! I haven’t ate any meat since.

I only went to one concert, but it was a fun one, and I punched a guy in the head….
I went hiking….a lot!

I met lots of awesome authors and other bloggers.

I went to some football games.

I revisited the 80′s.

I learned that I can write a book, I didn’t finish it, but I now know that I can do it!

That’s also my New Years Resolution: to write and finish the book that is taking over my brain.
I read 146 of books.
And had lots of fun!
I can’t wait to see what 2011 holds.

I haven’t had time to do any challenges :( Maybe tomorrow morning!

Review: The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

Release Date: January 25, 2011
Received From: NetGalley
Age Group: Young Adult
My Rating: 4 Stars
IBSN: 9780373210183
Blurb:
My name is Meaghan Chase.

I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who’s sworn to stay by my side. Drag me into the core of a conflict so powerful, I’m not sure anyone can survive it.

This time, there will be no turning back.

I’ve been with this series since The Iron King first came out. I devoured every word and I’ve been Team Puck all the way. This is another enchanting installment in The Iron Fey series and even though its the end of Meghan’s story it will leave you wanting more.

First, I have to get something off my chest, I didn’t like this one as much as the first two. I know! I’m sorry! I just didn’t! The pace in the first half was really slow and it didn’t keep my attention. I actually finished two other books while I was reading this, I never do that. But after the first half of the book it was back to the action that I have grown to love with this series!

I’m having a hard time talking about the contents of this book without saying something spoilery. Let me just say that Meghan’s development as a character was extraordinary. I loved the progression of her relationship with Ash, even though I like Puck better…Just saying!

The ending of this book will not leave you disappointed. This series is a must read for any fans of the fey. I’m still in awe of Julie’s take on the world of Faerie and I can’t wait to read more!
