Danger waits on both sides of the grave.
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they’ve triumphed over the latest battle, Cat’s new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .
With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous “ally”—the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.
I haven’t kept up with a lot of the adult series that I used to read, but this one is the one I must keep up with! Now that the Fever series has ended the Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost will definitely take the number one spot on my favorite adult series list. And this much anticipated installment did not disappoint!
I have slacked on reading the Night Huntress World books so I was the teeniest bit lost when it came to some things, but it was nothing major. There was spoilers in this book about Last Drop of Crimson and Eternal Kiss of Darkness, but I will still read those for sure!
This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost offers up what you have come to know and love about Bones (YUM!) and Cat. Wit, charm and sex appeal abound in this installment. I find myself giggling at Bones’ sarcasm and Cats’s inner dialogue every few pages!
I don’t think the story line in this one way the best of the series, but the action and characters more than make up for that! I still, of course, loved it! If you are in the mood for a fantastic adult series pick this one up immediately!
