I have read 3 books today! The Foretelling by Alice Hoffman, The Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
The Lover’s Dictionary was a reread because I loved it so, so much and I loved it just as much this time around. I enjoyed The Foretelling. Hoffman’s books are always beautiful. I LOVED The Perks of Being a Wallflower! It really wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was messy and beautiful and very, very unique.
I’m about to start The Folk Keeper by Franny Billingsley and I hope I can read at least 100 pages before I get too sleepy.
Bailey’s challenge was all about the new mythology trend in YA. She wants us to answer two questions and here are my answers:
Mini Challenge Question 1:
What is your favorite type of myth (Greek, Roman, Egyptian etc)?
I have always, always loved Greek mythology. It goes back to 6th grade when we spent months on it. It was one of my favorite things that year. I’m also most familiar with it.
Mini Challenge Question 2:
What is your favorite book with some type of mythology in it?
Hmm..I’m having a hard time thinking of all the books I have read with a mythology theme, so I’ll just go with my most recent favorite, which would have to be Darkness Becomes Her. I loved that book.
