Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.
But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.
So much for normal.
Remember how you giggled when you read Paranormalcy by Kiersten White? How it was like taking one big breath of fresh air? That’s how it was for me. I got that lovely feeling where I knew I was reading something absolutely unique and having a great time doing it. It’s hard to live up to that with a sequel, right? Never fear, because Supernaturally lives up to it’s predecessor marvelously.
Supernaturally picks up a couple of months after the first book. Evie’s life has changed drastically. For the better? She’s not sure yet. This follow-up is a very ‘in the middle’ book. Evie is definitely trying to work through a lot of stuff, but it still reads like the fun adventure that Paranormalcy was. Evie is up to her usual antics and she has the same loveable charm and wit. You can’t help but love her with her pink taser and Oh bleep’s.
Lend is still just as swoon-worthy, but I wish he was around just a tiny bit more, and so does Evie. I think we will be seeing more of him in the next book, though. There are some new characters introduced in this one and I enjoyed all of them. I must say that I absolutely love Arianna! I can’t wait to find out more about her.
This really is a great follow-up. I figured out the mystery pretty early on, but Evie makes me giggle so much that I didn’t even care. If you haven’t read Paranormalcy yet, I suggest you do so quickly. If you have read it, read Supernaturally asap! You will not be disappointed!
