Blogger Tips and Tricks is a new semi regular feature where I will try to shine some light on some little known blogger things and maybe give you a few how to’s.
Last week Laura from The Zealous Reader asked: Could you do a quick tutorial of the Blogger Draft buttons. Has anything else really changed other than the colours? It looks way different.
So here we are! Today I am just going to do the Dashboard and post areas and it you want me to do more sections let me know and I will. Above is my dashboard. Click on the image to make it larger (or right click and open in a new tab so you can see the post and the picture). Overall, the dashboard really hasn’t changed much. I think the biggest change is the stats under your blog name and the drop down menu.
On the drop down menu you will find basically everything that was under your blog name in the old dashboard.
If you click the little home icon beside the drop down it will take you to a new Blog Overview page. I just realized the View in Google Reader was always there in the dashboard, it was just hidden at the bottom of the page. That’s really all that’s different on the dashboard. There a few more changes to the posts page:
All of the Drafts, Scheduled etc.. have been moved to the left side and they added numbers! I love that because I had been watching mine to see when I got to 1,000 posts and this made it so much easier.
You can use the check boxes beside the posts and the little label icon to apply labels to multiple posts. That’s very handy. There’s also the search bar, there was always a search bar, but this one is just set up better. You can search all labels or within a certain label.
I really think that’s it. I hope you found this helpful and let me know if you have any questions!
