This is my first EVER Top Ten Tuesday! This feature is pretty much awesome and I don’t know why I have waited so long to participate. Anyway, this week’s topic is Top Ten Books I Read Because Of Another Blogger. Which for me, is kind of a hard topic because about 90% of the books I read are based on opinions of the Blogging community and I can’t trace every one back to one certain blogger….but these are the ones that I can trace back or books that I would not have read if it weren’t for other bloggers. So here they are in no particular order:
1. Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty
This book was not on my radar. Not at all. Until I saw April from Good Books and Good Wine talking it up….then I saw Carla from The Crooked Shelf gushing about it….then I saw Jenny from Wondrous Reads gushing too. After I read April’s post about it I promptly ordered it and DEVOURED it. OMG I LOVE THAT BOOK. I have since read the second one and LOVED it too! I need to read the rest of them.
2. Small Town Sinners by Melissa Walker
I usually try to stay far away from books dealing heavily with religion. But Candace from Candace’s Book Blog recommended this. I ended up really enjoying it and I would not have picked it up on my own.
4. Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway
I’m not sure what blogger put this on my radar but I know that I did buy it based on a Twitter conversation or because of a post. Either way I absolutely adored the book.
5. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
I LOVE Lauren Oliver, but this was her first book and to be honest it didn’t sound that appealing to me. Then I got this:
(from Carla at The Crooked Shelf) Obviously I HAD to read it! Thus starting my love for Lauren Oliver.
6. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
I can’t remember who I first heard about this book from…maybe Sabrina from YA Bliss? I’m not sure but it seemed like I saw someone mention it and then BAM I was seeing it everywhere. It is still one of the most amazing books ever.
7. Ballads of Suburbia by Stephanie Kuehnert
This book was on a ton of Favorites of ’09 lists. I can remember it being on The Story Siren’s list and I know that it was on lots more. I probably would have never picked it up if it weren’t for that. I absolutely loved it so I am so glad I read it.
8. Willow by Julia Hoban
This is another one that I don’t remember who I saw talking about it…(maybe Sabrina again?) but I know that I had ignored it on the shelves many time before I saw bloggers talking about it. This is a heartbreaking and beautiful book.
9. Mostly Good Girls by Leila Sales
I don’t think I would have picked up this book at all had it not been for Jenny’s WoW post. I really hadn’t paid much attention to it until I saw that. I LOVED it so I’m so glad that I did.
10. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I put off reading this book for quite awhile. I wanted to read it but what really made me run out and get it was the huge Catching Fire blog tour going on. I’m pretty sure that Presenting Lenore’s part in the tour is what made me go purchase the book.
