Yep, today is my birthday and this is a shameless post to get you to tell me happy birthday! No, it’s not really. I’ve decided to do a somewhat personal post. I really don’t post things about me often. Honestly, I’m not very interesting. The most interesting things about me are, I read lots of books and I have a blog. You guys know that. But I’m going to try to come up with some semi interesting things.
My husband and I met when I was 17. I was a waitress. His waitress. Somehow this wasn’t as creepy as it sounds now. 😉 We kind of sort of had mutual friends so it wasn’t like he randomly asked me out on a date, but he was shy so the asking out took a few weeks. Those weeks were filled with him semi stalking me at work. He would come in the restaurant to ‘read The Cather in the Rye’ and SURPRISE! I just happened to be working. He finally asked me out and that’s my real life YA romance. We’ve been together 7.5 years!
I’ve never been on an airplane. I’ve never been farther west in the US than Nashville. Sad, huh? I grew up in a super small town. We only had one red-light, a gas station, a grocery store, and a Sonic Drive-In. That’s it. But we have mountains! You have to drive 30 minutes just to get to a Walmart or any non-Sonic restaurants. I loved it, though. When Beau and I moved in together I moved across the county line and now I only have to drive 20 minutes to get places!
I really love to garden. (I’m such an old person!) And I’m very good at it, if I do say so myself. I rarely kill anything. But I’ve picked reading over gardening a lot these last couple of years. I still love it, though. It’s just a lot of work. Reading is easier….
I can’t think of anything else, so there you have it, a few things you didn’t know about me. Now go read a good book to celebrate my birthday!
