If you’ve read my blog for awhile you may know that Lauren Oliver is one of my favorite authors. I’m even a little fangirly when it comes to her books. When I finished Delirium I was so in love that I made a vlog about it. So when I found out the Dark Days tour was coming to Atlanta there was no question that I was going to be there. I left bright and early that morning, but not nearly as bright and early as Shannon from Stalking the Bookshelves. She drove down from north of Nashville! I met up with her and then we proceeded to almost get lost picking up Briana from The Book Pixie. This was Briana’s very first book signing! I’m so happy she got to go.
We arrived early because of my speeding but we were still too late for a seat. This was the first time I’ve not a seat at an event, but we stood on the side and still had a good view. The event was pretty standard. They each described their books and then took questions. Dan was very funny and Lauren was just a sweet as she seems online. I haven’t read any of Claudia’s books but I think I’m going to have to because she was lovely.
We were planning a Blogger dinner for right after the event and I was super excited about it already. What I didn’t know until the right before is that the authors were planning on stopping by the restaurant. So yeah…Lauren Oliver and Claudia Gray sat across me and shared my chips and salsa. It was pretty amazing. We had a lot of fun and of course chatted about lots of books. Here’s some pictures:
It was a really fantastically bookish day. I wish every day could be like that.
