Top Ten Books I Hope People Are Still Reading in 30 Years

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish

This week’s topic is: Top Ten Books Written in the Last 10 Years that I Hope People Are Still Reading in 30 Years.

I usually write captions or explanations on why I chose the books, but this time every single one of these books can be explained by the term Simply Amazing.

2. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

3. Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King

4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

5. Crank by Ellen Hopkins

6. Delirium by Lauren Oliver

  1. I very nearly put the Lauren Oliver books on my list, but wasn’t sure if they’d withstand the test of time (for example, since Before I Fall is set in a high school, I didn’t know if it would seem dated in 30 years). Wonderful books though.

And I have Graceling sitting on my shelf, just waiting for me to have time to read it! I keep hearing such good things!

  6. Awesome. We agreed on a few. :) I’ve had  Jellicoe Road and Before I Fall forever and still have not read them. *sigh* I hope anything Ellen Hopkins writes remains in the thick of it all. And Shiver. *sigh* SO good. I seriously could have done without the other two, but Shiver was incredible…

  13. Yay Lauren Oliver. I wish everyone would read Before I Fall. And I’m always really curious what future people with think of this generations visions of the future – so I hope in 30 years their still reading Delirium too. Plus, there’s just too much awesome there to let them disappear. Love this list.

  14. This list is awesome!  It has a bunch of books that would have made my list if I could have listed 20 instead of 10 (and a few that did make my list)… John Green could have taken up 1/2 my list, really!

    Check out my Top Ten!

  24. Awesome post! I love that you included Delirium — it made my list as well. I would hope that kids reading Before I Fall in 30 years would wonder what this “bullying” thing is that the writer is talking about, making the story archaic and outdated … here’s hoping =)
