Do you ever just wish for more books with a certain theme? For example: ‘I would so adore it if there were more books with love triangles!’ Not really, but you get the idea. Here are a few themes and settings I would love to see more of.
I have a lot of love for unreliable characters. No other books surprise and captivate me more. Some really great examples of unreliable narratives are: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin and Liar by Justine Larbalestier.
Call me bias but I’m from the south and I would love to see more books that take place in my neck of the woods.
OMG I loved summer camp. I was one of those nerdy kids that went to 4-H camp every summer. I would love to read some YA that takes place at summer camp. Probably because I miss my summer camp days and just want to relive them. 😉
I was born in the wrong era. I’ve always had such a fascination with the 60’s and 70’s. Movies like Dazed and Confused and Forrest Gump don’t help. I know that it would probably be hard to capture the time period in a YA because there was lot of drugs and such but I would so, so love to read one. I was really happy to hear about Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt. It’s sounds like I might get a little 60’s fix that way.
Do you have any books that fit these themes that I maybe haven’t read? Is there any themes you would love to see more of?
