Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish
This week’s topic is a freebie so I picked the old topic: Favorite Settings.
1. The south
I’m southern. I’ve lived in the south all my life so I love reading books that take place in my neck of the woods. Books that take place in the south: Hourglass, The Eternal Ones, Beautiful Creatures, Sisters Red etc.
2. Forks, WA
You love it too. Honestly, I think it’s one of the reasons I loved the book so much. Forks was so vivid and drastically different than where I live.
Sigh….I love Hogwarts.
4. Unearthly’s setting (Jackson Hole, WY)
I adore outdoorsy books and one that always comes to mind is Unearthly.
It’s seems like I love every single book that takes place in Australia. How is that possible? It must have something to do with the country or with the amazing authors that live there. Some Australian favorites: Anything by Melina Marchetta, Stolen by Lucy Christopher, and The Ghosts of Ashbury High by Jaclyn Moriarty.
6. New York City
Who doesn’t love book in NYC? How can you not?! Some favorites that take place in NYC: the Jessica Darling series, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, well really most of David Levithan’s books.
7. The Night Circus
In my opinion, The Night Circus is on of the most creative and incredible settings ever.
I have a special place in my heart for books set in Maine. I think it’s directly linked to my early love of Stephen King novels, but lately Delirium made me fall in love with it again.
There is nothing better than a book set in Scotland. This is mostly due to my love of Outlander.
10. Road trips
This might be cheating but it’s kind of a setting, right?
