Top Ten Favorite Books I’ve Read Since I Started Blogging

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish

This week’s topic is: Top Ten Favorite Books You’ve Read During The Lifespan Of Your Blog

I think I’ve read almost all my favorite book since I’ve been blogging so this is hard!

1. Harry Potter series

I was very late to the HP game and didn’t read them until the summer of ’09. Can you believe that!? At least I didn’t have to wait for the book to release. I did read them before I started actually putting effort into my reviews, so I really don’t have reviews for them. I guess it’s not really necessary because of course I OMG LOVED THEM!

2. Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King

This book is beyond incredible.

3. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I think you all know how much I love this book, right?

4. Graceling, Fire, and Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore

I read Graceling right when I really started getting into YA and I was just blown away. I don’t think I had ever read anything like it before then.

5. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins

I also read this one in ’09 (that was a very good year of books for me). I had never read a dystopian before and I was utterly enthralled.

6. Delirium by Lauren Oliver

This book floored me. In the best possible way.

7. Chime by Franny Billingsley

Love, love, love this book.

8. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

What a crazy, intense, emotional read. I loved every second of it.

9. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

I love this book so much.

10. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffennegger

I was blown away by this book and completely shattered.

  1. Totally agree with Delirium, Harry Potter and Shiver. Although Shiver is not one of my favorites I do love Stiefvater’s writing style. I think it’s very special and unique!

  3. These all look so good. I’ve just added Please Ignore Vera Dietz to my ‘to read list’; I’ve still not read The Time Traveler’s Wife! Shocking, I know :). We’ve got the Graceling and HP series in common.

  4. You know I couldn’t get into the Time Traveler’s Wife at all, but I did love Shiver!

  5. Great List. I adore the Harry Potter series and The Hunger Games. Just watched the movie again yesterday, it’s even better the second time round. The actress who plays Katniss is so good.

  6. Nice choices! I need to check out this Vera book. You speak of it often. :)
Time Traveler’s Wife was an incredible book. I’ve refused to see the movie so far because I don’t want to ruin it!
Shiver! *sigh* I still wish it was a standalone book. So freaking amazing.

  7. I still need to read Chime and the Graceling series! They have been sitting on my shelf forever.
YAY for Harry and AS KING!!!
OF course you know 2 of your books hit my do like at all list, hehe. 😉

  8. It seems that many of my favorites were read during the life of my blog, too – and I’ve only been at it about 10 months now! Imagine the possibilities. ; )

I love that Mara Dyer pops up on your list (and does so frequently!). I recently read it thanks to your gushing recommendations, and if I’d done a Top Ten today, it’d definitely be near the top, for sure! : )

    Happy Tuesday.

  9. Great list. HP is one of my all time favs, but I read them long before I started blogging. I also read Graceling & THG series, and although I loved them, they didn’t made on my list. I need to read Fire & Bitterblue, and most of the rest are on my reading list or wishlist. Oh, and I just bought finally Shiver last week, so I’m looking forward to reading it :)

  10. I love all of the books you picked! SO many of them I read before I began blogging, so sadly I don’t have reviews for them. Maybe I should start going back and writing reviews for books I read B.T.B (before the blog!).

  11. Great list with some awesome books! Of course Harry Potter, I reread the books during the lifespan of my blog, but it felt a bit like cheating putting them on this list, lol. I love to see The Time Traveler’s Wife here, it’s one of my all time favorites! It’s just so amazing!
I still have to read the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, but soon I will! :)

  14. SO many great books on your list! I read a lot of them before I started blogging, which is why they’re not on mine, but Harry Potter, Delirium, Hunger Games, Time Traveler’s Wife all get a giant YES from me!

I have the Shiver trilogy sitting on my bookshelf, I need to read them! Awesome list :-)

  15. What an AMAZING list!  If I had been blogging during the time I read them, I totally would have included The Hunger Games.  It hurt me not to, lol.

And PS, don’t worry, you weren’t the LATEST to the HP game, I am.  STILL haven’t read them :-\

  16. Oh, thank GOD someone else put MARA on their list! I’m also SO glad to see Harry Potter up there. It’s probably my all-time favourite series :)

  17. The Seven Kingdoms trilogy for always!

Ron Weasley is forever my king. :-)

  18. I think I ended up reading a lot of my favorite books when I was on a blog break, like Hunger Games.  There are a ton of books on your list that I want to read, though.

  20. HP, yes!  I’m buying VERA DIETZ this week for a signing.  I can’t awit to read it!!  I considered putting MARA DYER on my list.  I mentioned GRACELING, but couldn’t put it on my list because I read it before I started blogging.  I guess I could have put BITTERBLUE, but it was another almost.  I had too many of those!  I actually wound up loving DIVERGENT more than THE HUNGER GAMES, though I also liked it a lot.  I almost put DELIRIUM on my list, too! Also LIESL & PO by her…  Oh, FORBIDDEN!  That was phenomenal.  I forgot about it, bad me! Great list!

  21. Good to see Harry Potter on there – I started reading them long before blogging even existed (I THINK), so they wouldn’t have been on my list. I just recently bought a copy of the Time Traveler’s Wife – looking forward to reading it.

  22. I was wondering what your list would look like, but I was SURE Mara Dyer would make it!  You have some great choices here!  The Hunger Games and HP would have both made my list if I hadn’t read them before I started blogging.  Still, it was so hard to narrow everything down to just ten!

    See you at DBF?

  24. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Great list, and I bet it was fun being able to read all the Harry Potter books in one go, rather than have to wait for them to be released. I think when I read them, the first four were out, but it always seemed like such a long time until the next one was released – and my brother would read them first and let out spoilers, which was a little bit mean!  I’ve read the first two Hunger Games books, but never got around to the third one – I definitely would like to see how it ends, though!
