Cover changes happen. I’ve come to terms with that. Sometimes I don’t always understand them but I assume that the publishing industry knows a lot more than me. That doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion and a preference. So I want to point out some of the cover changes I adore…and the ones I do not. Whether it be repackaging or new covers for paperback. Feel free to state your opinion as well. This is Part 7 of what is turning out to be a very ongoing post. (There’s just so many changes) Click for Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, and the Omnibus edition.
Legend by Marie Lu
I was never a huge fan of the cover, but I liked that it was boy friendly. I really like the new cover. It’s not a huge change but I think it adds so much to it. It’s not as plain.
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
This hurts my heart. It really does. The first cover is one of my favorites…ever. I even included it in one of my first Cover Changes posts under please don’t ever change. Well, it did and the new one is bad in my opinion. It looks like it should be a book about physics.
Kiss & Blog by Alyson Noel
I like both of these just fine…but what’s up with that cellphone? It’s a little dated isn’t it? Do they still make those?
Ashfall by Mike Mullin
I’m not a huge fan of either, but the new one is better I suppose.
The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff
I’m on the fence with this one. I love the weirdness of the first cover. It’s very unique. The more I look at the new one the more I like it.
What do you guys think?
