This week’s topic is: Top Ten Most Frustrating Characters Ever
Mine include a lot of frustrating relationships.
1. Bella Swan – Twilight
Probably not for the reason you think. Her personality never really annoyed me. Was it really that hard to pock between Edward and Jacob? I mean really?!
2. Anna and Etienne – Anna and the French Kiss
Just kiss already!
3. Jessica Darling and Marcus Flutie - Sloppy Firsts
They were frustrating throughout the entire series, but I love them so much.
4. Cassel Sharpe – White Cat
Oh, Cassel. You make such bad decisions.
5. Rusty and Honor - In Honor
I feel like making them kiss like my Barbie and Ken dolls when I was a kid.
6. Anita Blake – Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series
Oh goodness. I loved these. Seriously loved. Then they turned into lets see how many guys Anita can have sex with in one book. I’m serious. They stopped having plots…it was just sex. It was really too bad because the first 6 or so were awesome.
7. Alex and Brittany – Perfect Chemistry
Ahhh! Just do it already!
8. Jericho Barrons – Fever series
I still really don’t know what Jerricho’s deal was. So mysterious….and yummy.
9. Derek Souza – Darkest Powers series
Derek was so broody. I just wanted him to tell Chloe he looooved her.
10. Katniss Everdeen – The Hunger Games series
Katniss, Katniss, Katniss. I loved her so much, but wow could she be frustrating.
Lori it makes me so happy to see you picked more recent characters since I’ve seen a lot of lists with classic characters. I totally agree w/ Katniss and Bella. LOL

i totally agree with katniss. i thought she was good in book 1 but after that, it was whine city. i wanted to smack her sometimes. and bella, too. stop stringing everyone alone and just pick already! hahaha. great list this week.

I love Katniss, but I’m glad some people have added her to the frustrating character list, because now i feel my frustration has been validated. People I talk to IRL hold up Katniss as this amazing character, and don’t get me wrong, she is, but there were things throughout all three books that genuinely frustrated me to no end, so I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with that reaction.

Ahha!! OMG yes for Bella and her problems picking! How could she even think about not choosing Edward? I never got this either!
And .. *sigh* Barrons, he deserves a crown for how annoying her was, but .. I still love him deeply!

Yes. I said the same thing about Bella once to another blogger, and she said that she enjoyed that because “teenage boys needed their arrogance to be put down a level.” ><
Katniss, yes. Jerricho, yes. (Mac, too, though, and Ryodan from ICED). Anna & Etienne, so yes.
I do like how you chose couples as well as single characters.

Have to agree with you on most of these. Especially Bella and Jericho. Bella, you always knew who you’d pick. Come on. And Jericho – ugh, HE IS SO FRUSTRATING. lol. Great post.

Totally agree with you on Bella, she was one of the reasons why I really didn’t like the Twilight series. Also agree about Katniss! She was a headstrong character but sometimes she was so frustrating!

I have Anita Blake on my list for the same reason! The books started out so good and I couldn’t get enough – I read them in two days sometimes. And then came the sex. A little here, a little there, no big deal. And then more sex, less plot until I felt like that’s all I was reading. A book of sex. I miss the old Anita Blake.

Hhahahaha, I love that for all of the characters I love that you listed, you were frustrated because they wouldn’t get together. That’s what made me love them so much!! But it was annoying how Bella couldn’t choose between Jacob and Edward. Great list

I’m so glad I’m not the only one on the Katniss-is-frustrating wagon – I’m seeing her all over today and I’m relieved. I thought everyone would hate me.
Also, I’m slowly admitting to everyone that I’m not as frustrated with Bella as I think everyone else is. It didn’t even occur to me to put her on this list!

Great list! I only read the first Anita Blake book but sorry to hear that the books went downhill after a while. Agreed re: #1 (though I never mentioned her in my list–I guess it was a given in my mind, lol)

I liked Katniss in the first two books, but in the last one.. I felt a bit disappointed by her. I could understand it, but it still annoyed me. Bella is a character I really dislike. That’s part of the reason why I don’t like Twilight, at all.

Great list! I feel the same about Katniss. She was one of my most frustrating characters also. I remember screaming the same thing to Alex and Brittney while reading Perfect Chemistry! I forgot about Bella…I don’t want to go on cuz there’s so much about her that frustrates me and having Kristen Stewart play her in the movies did nothing to help Bella’s case.

Spot on about Bella, Anna and Alex. Haven’t read the other books. And for the record, I would have chosen Jacob, there simply was no second thought about it.

Katniss seems to be in everyone’s list but I agree she could be frustrating.. and Bella.. ugh.. got annoyed at her lots of times! Great list! =D

Katniss frustrated me too, but sometimes to the point where I didn’t even like her as a character. But I loved the tension between Anna and St. Clair, so I can’t say I wanted them to smoosh faces together very quickly

Honor made my list, too. I actually really didn’t like her all that much. And that part towards the end with what happens to Rusty. And Honor not doing the HONORABLE thing. Ugh. I actually got all teary eyed I was so frustrated.

Cassel may make bad decisions, but they usually pan out in the end. At least he’s awesome about fixing his own mistakes. I love those books so incredibly much. Still obsessing over them.

I loved the Anita Blake books as well, I sped through them – til I decided it was too much sex, not enough plot. Loads of people still read them and love them, but I guess it’s just not for me!
