Cover changes happen. I’ve come to terms with that. Sometimes I don’t always understand them but I assume that the publishing industry knows a lot more than me. That doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion and a preference. So I want to point out some of the cover changes I adore…and the ones I do not. Whether it be repackaging or new covers for paperback. Feel free to state your opinion as well. This is Part 10 of what is turning out to be a very ongoing post. (There’s just so many changes) Click for Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, and the Omnibus edition, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10 and Part 11.
The Blessed/Precious Blood by Tonya Hurley
I know a lot of people didn’t care for the original cover, but I actually liked it. It’s a little odd and that would make me stop and pick it up in the bookstore. I do have the new version too and I must say that it’s very pretty. It even has lots of awesome details inside.
Pretty Crooked by Elizabeth Ludwig
I read this one and really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun, but I can’t say that I love either cover. What do you think?
Starters by Lissa Price
I really liked this book, but I did not like the cover. I’m much happier with the new one. It looks a lot more appealing and…grown up.
Unbreak My Heart by Melissa Walker
I need to read this book. I think I’d love it, but I don’t really like either cover…
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
I think this is such a cool cover and I don’t know why they felt the need to change it, even a little. I just don’t like the addition of the boys on the paperback version. It makes it look really young.
Crewel by Gennifer Albin
I haven’t read this one so I don’t have much of an opinion. If I have to pick I like the original better.
So what do you guys think of all these changes?
