Cover Changes

Cover changes happen. I’ve come to terms with that. Sometimes I don’t always understand them but I assume that the publishing industry knows a lot more than me. That doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion and a preference. So I want to point out some of the cover changes I adore…and the ones I do not. Whether it be repackaging or new covers for paperback. Feel free to state your opinion as well. This is Part 10 of what is turning out to be a very ongoing post. (There’s just so many changes) Click for Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, and the Omnibus editionPart 7Part 8,  Part 9 Part 10, Part 11Part 12, and Part 13.

I like the new cover! I haven’t read the book, though. So I don’t know how informed my opinion is. I don’t love the cartoony-ness of the original cover.

I didn’t like this book, but I did like the cover. The new one is fine, too. It might be more eye catching but it isn’t very unique. I do like the font used on the new one.

I haven’t read this…I know, I need to. Anyway, I adore that new cover. It’s gorgeous and caught my eye so quick in the bookstore.

I loooove this original cover! So pretty! So different. The new one is nice but it kinda looks like every other YA contemp out there.

I’m okay with both of these. They’re both pretty. They both fit the book. The new one looks more like an adult cover, don’t you think?

Perfect Chemistry series by Simone Elkeles

I’m a pretty big fan of this series. I’ve never had a problem with the original covers. They aren’t my favorite but they fit the books well. I ADORE these new cover! Adore! They are sweeter looking and I think that will get the series a whole new group of fans.

So what do you guys think of all these changes?

  1. Oh nooooo! I know you like them but I really don’t like the new Perfect Chemistry covers. lol

The old ones always depicted a scene front he book and they looked dark and broody & hot. the new ones seem like most of the other books out there right now. They are nice but meh…

I liked the original Choker & How to Love. I like both the Forever, Out of the Easy covers and neither of the Unspoken.

I suppose new covers bring in a new group of readers. It must work or else they wouldn’t bother. It’s probably just us bloggers having a heart attack lol

  3. I agree with you in every single one!(:

  4. Oh no!! I loved the original covers of Simone Elkeles series and to be honest I do not like the new ones at all! The original ones are sexy and edgy, the new ones just plain boring!

I loved Choker and even though I liked the original, I love the type of the new one!

I’m with Karen on the Perfect Chemistry covers. I don’t like the new ones. The old ones always stood out among the “couples kissing” covers that seem to be popular at the moment. They’re dark and beautiful and they fit the tones of the books well. The new ones look too…fluffy to me.

As for the others, the only one I’ve read is Forever. I like the new cover okay, but I have to admit it reminds me of the TFIOS movie poster.

  6. Unspoken original looks more MG where the new one looks more YA paranormal. I like the original cover of Chocker better and I agree about the new ones font. I really like simplistic covers and How to Love should have kept the original. Out of the Easy, I really like the original better, the new one does look more like an adult fic. novel. I don’t like the new Perfect Chemistry covers. I actually love the original for Rules of Attraction one.
