We got Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site for Finn for Christmas and I’m so glad we did. He loves trucks and construction equipment so much lately so I’d hoped this book would be a hit. So far he seems to like it, so I guess it is!
What Mom Likes:
The story is a simple one, the big tough construction equipment have had a busy day and now it time’s for bed. We learn a little about each of their jobs and then we say goodnight to them. I like that there’s a slight emphasis on even the biggest, strongest things get sleepy and go to bed.
The illustrations are gorgeous. I never thought I’d think a cement mixer was cute, but I do in Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. I also love the small details on every page. Like how the crane truck is snuggled up with his teddy bear. It’s adorable!
What Finn Likes:
Sometimes it takes Finn a little while to warm up to a new book, but he seems to be enjoying this one already. He loves to point at all the different equipment so that we can name them (over and over and over). He likes to turn the pages and point to the same big machine on another page.
Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site is a delightful picture book that I haven’t grown tired of reading. I certainly recommend it for any little construction enthusiasts in your life.
