Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish
This week’s topic is: All About Books You Read Because of Recommendation — Ten Books I’ve Read Because Of Another Blogger (Or Book Person) or Ten Books I Read On Recommendation From People Outside Of This Community or you could talk about recommendations of books you read from other sources — a magazine, a podcast, a “because you read this” algorithm.
This was actually my very first TTT topic way back in 2010! This topic is kind of hard for me. A lot of the books I read are because I’ve seen a fabulous review or opinion, but I don’t always remember who recommended it.
Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
I just keep putting this book on my TTT posts because I want EVERYONE to read it! I downloaded the audiobook from my library promptly after reading Sab at YA Bliss’s review a few years ago. It remains on my my favorites list.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I’m still listening to this (maybe I’ll finish it soon!) and loving it! I had waffled on reading/listening to it for so long…I have no idea why because it’s AMAZING! I finally used an Audible credit after reading Becca at Lost in Literature’s review.
And I Darken Kiersten White
I can’t name a specific person that made me pick this one up. When I first started
drooling over hanging out at Bookstagram this book was everywhere. I bought it and read it right away.
We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
I saw Mindy Kaling recommend this on the Today Show and I bought the ebook shortly thereafter.
The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan
I listened to the audio of this last summer after seeing it on a lot of Favorite Books of the Year So Far lists. Lucy at The Reading Date had it on her’s, I think.
