Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish
This week’s topic is: Thanksgiving freebie — tell us what you are thankful for! Books you are thankful for!
Thanksgiving is Thursday for those of us in the US! It’s always a nice time to reflect on all the things we’re thankful for.
I’m so thankful for my precious little boys, my amazing husband, and my parents. My little ones fill my life with laughter and joy. My husband works so hard so that I can stay home with them. I’m really close to my parents. They’re my best friends.
My Birth Month Group
Most of you may not know, but there’s huge online communities for pregnant women. I first found them when I was pregnant with Finn, but I didn’t join in much. I did frequent a forum and joined in on a lot of cloth diaper discussions after he was born. When I got pregnant with Rowan I quickly joined my birth month forum. That was almost 2 years ago now. Our babies are almost one and we’re still so close! They are my tribe.
The Book Community
I’ve been part of this community since 2008 and I love it so much. It’s the nicest, drama free group of internet strangers ever.
I’m absolutely loving my time on #bookstagram. They people are amazing. They are part of that book community I mentioned, after all. I love having another outlet for discussing books and fangirling.
I know these last 2 things have been internet related, but what I really mean my this one is the knowledge and perspective that the internet allows me to have. I live in the rural southern US and I have very different beliefs and opinions than most everyone else here. If it weren’t for the interent (and the amazing people) I would feel so very alone. Plus, the internet has allowed me to be part of diverse groups of people that I probably wouldn’t encounter in my tiny town. It has enabled me to take action for the things I believe in (especially lately). I’m also very thankful for the knowledge about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding that I gained online. They have become huge passions of mine.
I have a 3.5 year old that never runs out of energy and a almost 1 year old that doesn’t sleep. Give me all the coffee.
I’m not sure how I would have made it through this last year without my ring sling and Tula!
I’m so thankful for the revival!!
