I’ve decided to participate in a few reading challenges in 2017 because I like books AND checking things off lists. 😉 I don’t read many books in a year these days, so I’m trying not to get too ambitious. I’m hoping I can overlap most of the challenges too. Here’s the ones I’m planning to participate in so far:
This one was a no brainier. Fantasy is my favorite genre and I have so many fantasy novels on my TBR right now. I’m hoping to read at least 10 for this challenge. Although, I have about a million fantasy books on my TBR. Here’s some at the very top of my list:
2017 Flights of Fantasy Challenge: 11/10
I used to participate in this challenge waaaay back when. I’m excited to do it again! The goal is to read 12 debuts in 2017. That might be a little ambitious for me, but I already have so many on my radar that I want to read. Hopefully I have time to read a bit more in 2017! The debuts at the top of my list include:
2017 Debut Author Challenge: 6/12
This challenge is all about knocking the older books off your TBR. You know which ones I’m talking about. The books you were so excited to read but somehow it’s been 4 years and it’s still sitting unread. I have a lot of those…The books for the challenge have to be released before 2017 and that’s the only rule. I like that if I come across an older book that wasn’t on my TBR before it will still count!
I’m hoping to read 10 books for this one. Honestly, I hope to read more, but you know how that goes. Almost all of the fantasy books I would love to read in 2017 are backlist books! So that helps. 🙂 Here’s some other older titles on my TBR:
The Accident Season Moïra Fowley-Doyle
100 Sideways Miles by Andrew Smith
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum
The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love by Sarvenaz Tash
Suffer Love by Ashley Herring Blake
Other Broken Things by Crista Desir
Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow
Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes
2017 Beat the Backlist: 7/8
2017 Diverse Reads Book Challenge
When I first started thinking about doing challenges in 2017 a diverse books challenge was what I wanted. I’m happy to have found one! I’m going to set a goal of 8 for this one. I honestly would’ve made it higher if I hadn’t signed up for all the other challenges first! I don’t want to get in over my head. 😉 But once again, I’m hoping for some overlap between challenges. Here’s a few books that I’m hoping to read:
2017 Diverse Reads Book Challenge: 15/8
This is a challenge where you are paired up with another blogger for a month and you comment on each others posts. You can commit to a certian number of comments so that it’s not overwhelming. We all love comments and I love meeting new bloggers (and discovering new books through them) so this sounds really fun!
Are you participating in any 2017 challenges?
