Don’t Judge a Book by It’s Cover is a new feature where I showcase some of the covers I dislike, but ultimately loved the book!

This book kind of rocked my socks. It scared me. I may have had a panic attack about 100 pages in. What I’m trying to say is that it was a awesome book. The cover isn’t bad. I’ve saw worse, but it doesn’t scream PICK ME UP…to me at least. Having read the book I like it more but it still seems like a odd choice for the cover in my opinion. I think it’s very boy friendly which is good, but there’s just something about it that I can’t love. Do you like it? Have you read the book? You definitely should because it’s just….WOW.

The cover for this put me off for awhile. I just can’t fully like it. It has potential with the stunning red hair and the gold details….but where did honest Abe come from?  I can’t look at that dude and think Jack the Ripper…he just looks like Abraham Lincoln to me. It some sort of glitch in my brain.The book was fantastic! But that cover just doesn’t do it for me. Do you like the cover?

I don’t hate these covers…I just don’t like them very much. I don’t think they are a very good representation of the fun unique story inside. The girl on the cover is okay. That’s how I would picture Emma, but what I really don’t like is the background images! They seem a little…silly. I do, however, like the Betrayal cover better than the Deception cover.
These are fantastic, fun books! You should definitely check them out if you are in the mood for some paranormal on the lighter side.

No! Before you say anything, I LOVE this cover now! I do! It’s perfect for the series. But at first I didn’t like it so much. It might be one of those covers that you just have to see in person. I think my issue with it at first was the light blue version that was everywhere online.

I didn’t like the light blue at all. But that’s not how the finished copy looks…at all. So it worked out. Now there’s no way I could picture it looking any other way!

Eek! I know! I know! I’m a horrible person, but the cover did keep me from picking this up for quite awhile. If you haven’t read the book then I think it’s easy to see the cover as kinda blah and boring, BUT! Once you read the book, it makes much more sense. Now I couldn’t picture the book with a different cover. Am I the only person that was put off my the cover at first? *hides* I hope not!

I don’t like this cover…at all. But the book was AWESOME! I’m so happy I read the reviews…I’m so happy I don’t judge books by their covers! Because I would have missed out on this intelligent and supremely funny read.
Oh you wanna know what I don’t like about the cover? The unnatural legs…Yes, I know it’s tights, but…They look kinda weird to me. Plus, I don’t like the shoes either. If I remember correctly the cover doesn’t really suit the book either…But read it! Cause it’s awesome!

I know! I must be the only person in the world that doesn’t like this cover! I honestly didn’t even add it to my wish list until I received the book in the mail unexpectedly. I was completely turned off my the cover, because it looks like a adult paranormal romance cover to me. I have no problem with PR but I guess I just don’t want my YA covers to look like them. But I did end up LOVING the book, that just goes to show that I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover!
Oh and I do like the cover for Wolfsbane much better!

I wrote the above before the new cover controversy! It was announced a couple of weeks ago that the covers were going to be changed to this:

I really like the new covers, buuut it seems like other people did not! So Penguin is in talks to maybe not change them. We’ll see how it turns out.

Here’s another cover that I didn’t like, although it looks much better in person. When I first saw it, though, I did not like it. It’s too…plain! And after reading the book I’m still not a fan of the cover, because the story is awesome! There is so much potential for a awesome cover, but it just didn’t happen! I’m sooo happy that I read the book, though. Because it was fantastic!! Maybe the sequel will have a more interesting cover!
